Exercise Stress Test helps determine how well your heart responds during times when it's working its hardest. It typically involves walking on a treadmill or pedaling on a stationary bike while connected to an EKG to monitor your heart’s activity. the purpose of exercise stress test is to diagnose coronary artery disease by showing abnormalities on the EKG during exericse.
Stress Echo assesses your heart’s function when it’s beating fast. You create this “stress” by exercising or with medications if the patient can not exercise, for patient that have an implanted permanent pacemaker, we can programs the device to raise the heart rate during the stress test, at that moment images of the heart are taken and compared to rest images Cardiac stress testing is commonly used to diagnose and monitor coronary artery disease (CAD). You create this “stress” by exercising on a treadmill or bicycle This test is also commonly called exercie stress echo or exercise echo stress test. this test can be done by using medications like Dobutamine to increase the heart rate, this is called pharmachological stress test or dobutamine stress echo.
Nuclear Cardiac Stress test helps diagnose and monitor heart problems such as coronary artery disease. A provider injects a small amount of radioactive substance into your vein. Then a special camera takes pictures of blood flow in and around the heart. The test has two phases: when at rest and during stress. it can be done through exercise with a treamill or bicycle and is called exercise nuclear stress test or with medication for patient who can not exericse with medication to increase blood flow and stress the heart. It can be Adenosine or Ragadenosine; for patien who can't use vasodilator we can use Dobutamine to increase the heart rate. For patient with pacemaker we can programs the device to raise the heart rate.
