Patent Foramen Oval closure is procedure to close a small hole called a foramen ovale between the upper two heart chambers (atria). Everyone is born with this hole. Usually, this hole closes shortly after birth,
A PFO occurs when the hole doesn't seal as it should. Most PFOs don't need to be closed. Most PFOs cause no symptoms.
Larger PFOs may cause stroke. People with symptomatic or large PFOs may benefit from a procedure to close the hole.
Left Atrial Appendage (LAA) closure is a procedure that blocks or closes the opening to your LAA to keep blood clots from leaving there and going into your bloodstream. This prevents strokes in people with atrial fibrillation, but without blood thinners. This appendage in one of your heart’s upper chambers doesn’t have a function.
Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement is a procedure to replace an aortic valve that is narrowed and doesn't open fully. The aortic valve is between the left lower heart chamber and the body's main artery. Narrowing of the aortic valve is called aortic valve stenosis.
TAVR is minimally invasive. It may be an option for people who can't have heart surgery to replace the aortic valve. TAVR can help reduce chest pain, shortness of breath and other symptoms of aortic valve stenosis.
Mitral Clip is a small device used to stop leaky mitral valve. Leaky mitral valve is also called Mitral Regurgitation. It is placed on your mitral valve in a minimally invasive interventional cardiology procedure called transcatheter edge-to-edge repair (TEER) using a flexible, hollow tube (catheter). It will prevent congestive heart failure, atrial fibrillation and other cardiac issues.
